It was my brother-in-law mother's funeral yesterday. My sister and I went to their house in Kg Sumbiling to convey our condolences to the family. When we arrived, the 'jenazah' was about to be carried to the van.
After the 'jenazah' left the house, we (especially me) decided to join in the 'kebumikan'. We followed to 'kubur' and when we arrived, we had to climb quite a number of steps before arriving at the spot. When we finally arrived at the spot, the 'jenazah' had already been placed in the 'liang lahad'. We didn't actually get to see the procedure. Anyway, we stayed until the ceremony ended with the pouring of 'air mawar' and some flowers.
The lesson learnt there was when the 'talqin' was read. It was scary in the sense that it made us realise that we must always do good things in life, and that we will be questioned by the 'malaikat' of our behaviour while still living.
Anyway, semoga roh Allahyarhamah Byg Hjh masnah Bte Abdullah dicucuri rahmat, amiiin..
