HEALTHY REFLECTIONS
The choices you make today will determine the path that your life will take. When you sit back and look at the decisions you've made in your life, are you happy with the route you've paved?
If you're not, make a change today. The next time you make a choice, ask yourself if this decision will lead you to the path you want to travel along. Set some new goals that will lead you to your dreams and then plan your course.

DAILY MUSLIM WISDOM
Live in this world like a stranger, a wayfarer, and deem yourselves as dwellers of the graves.
- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Ibn Umar
Once Abu Umamah asked the Prophet about the rights of parents over their children. The Prophet replied, "They are your Paradise and they are your Hell."
- Reported by Abu Umamah
You will not be able to give anyone happiness by means of your wealth, so do it by means of a cheerful countenance and good humor.
- The Prophet Muhammad in Qushayri: al-Risalat al-Qushayriyya
Gratitude for the abundance you have received is the best insurance that the abundance will continue.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Because breast cancer affects women of all ages, it is important that all women, including young women, examine their breasts regularly to pick up any changes. Self-examination is important because if you’re aware of how your breasts normally look and feel, you’re more likely to notice a change if it develops.
In addition to seeing your doctor each year for a breast examination, you should check your breasts regularly. A good time to do this is after the last day of your menstrual cycle or if you do not have periods, the same date each month. Most women find that their breasts are easier to examine just after their period when any premenstrual pain and lumpiness have settled.
You may check your breasts standing up, for example in the shower, or lying down, for example before going to sleep. Your partner should also be alert and look for changes in your breasts.
You can check your breasts by:
Looking at the shape and appearance of your breasts and nipples in the mirror with your hands by your sides
Raising your arms above your head and looking for a change in the shape of the breasts
Feeling for lumps in the breasts either while lying down or standing
Feeling for lumps in the nipples area and in the armpits
You should look out for the following changes:
A lump or lumpiness or even a change in shape or appearance of your breast such a dimpling, redness and appearance of veins
An area that feels different to the rest of your breast or any pain in your breast
Any change in the shape or appearance of your nipple, such as your nipple being pulled in or development of a rash
A discharge from your nipple, particularly if it is bloody
If you find a change don't panic
Most changes in the breast are not related to breast cancer. However, if you do find a change in your breast or a lump, it is important to visit your GP immediately.
Remember, the sooner you see your GP after finding a change in your breast, the better
Your GP will conduct a clinical breast examination to determine whether you will need further testing.
Take control of your health – you can help protect yourself against breast cancer
Unfortunately, many of us will know someone who has been touched by breast cancer, which affects one in eight Australian women1 – but you can help protect yourself against the disease.
More women are surviving breast cancer than ever before due to better testing and treatment. Breast cancer survival is now up to 85 percent1. The smaller a breast cancer is, the simpler the treatment and the better the outcome.
Early detection has been proven to save lives.Be 'Breast Aware' and check your breasts regularly

SIMPLE SUNGKAI
Since day one of Ramadhan, my family and I didn't have any special food for "sungkai" (break fast). All we had was grass jelly, corn, red bean paste, rose syrup and milk, all mixed together in individual bowl. And until today, we are still having the same thing. On days when we have delicacies from the neighbours or my mother, we only eat them after 'Isya prayer. We are happy with these "little" sungkai.

To all Muslim readers, happy fasting!

EXPRESSING EVERYDAY GRATITUDE..
How often do you remember the people that have made little things possible for you? It's easy to take our privileges for granted. Today, be more aware of your surroundings--everything from your shirt, house, food, and car--and who has made them possible for you. Who has made it possible for you to experience such wonderful things? One way to let someone know that you truly appreciate their efforts is to send them a quick note or return the kindness in your own way.

Hi..
Hello readers,
Happy New Year 2009 and Hijrah 1430. Haven't been updating my blog lately.
The reason is because my family and I were away for about 2 weeks. We went to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Kota Kinabalu for the holidays, and came back only on the 30th Dec 2008. Then school reopens and had to make sure everything is in place.
Anyway, here I am again and hoping to update my blog every now and then.
Thank you for visiting my page.
